This depends on the size of your filter. The thinner the filter, the more often you should change your filter. We recommend at least inspecting your filter no matter the size once a month to see how dirty it is.

Why is preventative maintenance important for my system?
The main reason preventative maintenance is so important is to keep from voiding the manufacturer's warranty on the system. The 2nd reason is to have your system last longer. Think of it like a vehicle if you don't take care of it the more often it is going to break down costing you more money in the long run.
On average, how long does a HVAC system last?
With technology more advanced than ever before your system should last you between 12-15 years, potentially longer if you perform preventative maintenance on your system 2 times a year.
